Flu Season 2019 - PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Please support the practice by having your flu vaccination with us

Flu vaccination provides the best protection against an unpredictable virus which infects many people and can cause serious illness and death each year

The vaccination is free and recommended yearly for those most at risk from flu.  You will be invited, by letter and text message (if we have your mobile telephone number number), if we identify that you are eligible for the flu vaccine. You are eligible if you are:

  • currently 65 years or over (or will be by the 31st March 2020)
  • under 65 years and you fall into an at risk group e.g. heart disease, asthma (must be taking certain medications), diabetes or pregnant etc
Over 65 yrs

This year, as there are no centrally-operated restrictions, all of our flu vaccine will be delivered on the 10th September and therefore we do not anticipate any supply/demand issues.  We would like to encourage all those who are 65yrs + to attend one of the two Saturday drop-in clinics. The Saturday clinics will be held on:

Saturday …. of September 2019 at

Saturday … of September 2019 at

Based on feedback from last year we will be reintroducing the staging of patients arrival by surname to minimise waiting times:

Surname A to E please arrive between 08:30 - 09:30                            Surname F to L please arrive between 09:30 - 10:30

Surname M to R please arrive between 10:30 - 11:30                            Surname S to Z please arrive between 11:30 - 12:30

However if you slot is not suitable for you please come along at any time, it is more important that you attend rather than not.

17 years - 64 yrs and at risk due to a health condition

Due to the delivery and quantity restrictions placed on us for the vaccine for this group of patients we do  not have enough quantity of stock to include this group in the Saturday clinics.  Therefore you will be able to book appointments in a usual HCA/Nurse appointment session or at one of our evening clinics which we are adding in this year to try and make getting your vaccine more conveniently.  The evening clinics will be on:

Under 17 years:
  • Children over the age of 6 months with a long term health condition (vaccination will be offered by us)
  • Children aged 2 or 3 on the 31st August 2019 i.e. born between 11th September 2015 and 31st August 2017 (vaccination will be offered by us)
  • Children in primary school (vaccination at school)
